This dataset consists of several types of observations of aerosol particle properties and reactive trace gas concentrations from 38 ACTRIS sites during the first COVID-19 lock-down period, January - April, 2020.  

The data are archived in and accessible through the ACTRIS In-Situ Data Centre using the EBAS database repository operated at NILU - Norwegian Institute for Air Research (

Data policy

The data are available free of charge for non-commercial and scientific use. By using this data, you as data user accept that an offer of co-authorship will be made through personal contact with the data providers or owners whenever substantial use is made of their data. In Situ Lockdown data from 38 ACTRIS sites. Some sites provide multiple measurements. 

In Situ Aerosol data: 34 sites

  • Scattering coefficient: 21 sites
  • Absorption coefficient: 18 sites
  • Particle number size distribution (MPSS + APS_OPS_OPC): 23 sites
  • Particle number concentration: 12 sites
  • Mass concentration of non-refractory particulate organics and inorganics (ACSM): 4 sites
